(Hawks, 1953)
The entirety of the gemstone industry has historic complications - especially in regards to human rights and environmental impacts. With diamond arguably being the world’s most precious and aspirational gemstone, in order to ensure sustainable practices in a financially-driven industry, companies must practise corporate responsibility to tackle and unravel key issues such as conflict diamonds and the web that is the diamond supply chain.
Research Approach & Methodology
The research approach has consisted of primary research in a survey and analysis of diamond prices in the current market; as well as secondary research gained from articles, reports, films and more. Key voices in the diamond industries range from Martin Rapaport of the Rapaport Group and The De Beers Group - a big part of why we produce diamonds at its current scale, from years of revolutionary marketing.
